The areas to the east of the city from Spitalfields through Aldgate and down to Tower Bridge is where the City merges with the East End. The fruit and vegetable market which once dominated Spitalfields is now an arts, crafts and organic foods market, surrounded by new office complexes at Bishopsgate and Broadgate next to Liverpool Street Station. Recent office to residential conversions around Prescot Street, Alie Street, The Minories and Back Church Lane provide high quality accommodation. Whilst some wonderful and rarely-on-the-market four storey Georgian houses, in street's off Brick Lane provide a reminder of a bygone era. Access to Canary Wharf and other parts of the capital is provided by a number of train links.
