Southbank

The Southbank is a wide area spreading from Waterloo through Bankside, Borough and Bermondsey to Tower Bridge, linked by a popular Thameside walkway.

With the new Tate Gallery of Modern Art, The Globe Theatre, Oxo Tower, New Millennium Footbridge, Gabriel's Wharf, The Royal Festival Hall, new Imax cinema, The London Eye and the Eurostar Tunnel at Waterloo it is not surprising that this area is now regarded as London's new cultural centre.

In keeping with the regeneration of the area, a wide range of homes have been created, from the luxury apartments of County Hall, to warehouse conversions in Borough and Bermondsey and the Bankside lofts, a landmark building completed in 1998 which was originally sold as shells, but now house stunning contemporary apartments.

Transport links have been improved with the opening of the new Jubilee Line extension and with London Bridge Station set to be redeveloped. With the new Mayor of London office set to be built between Hays Galleria and Tower Bridge the area has the potential to challenge more traditional central London locations.
